Terms of use
The terms CallCamIT asks to be accepted before it runs, word for word as the application shows them.
Version 1.6, 6 October 2026. Since version 1.5, section 6 says a Team laptop renews its own licence: once a day near its date it sends us the licence it holds and its identifier, and an administrator can switch this off. Ordering online, added to section 8 in version 1.5, is unchanged. Nothing else has changed.
In short
- CallCamIT makes real changes to real systems, and some cannot be undone.
- It is an AI assistant and it can be wrong, in the way a person can be wrong.
- Keep working backups. You are responsible for what it is allowed to reach.
- It is provided as is, with no warranty, and our liability is capped at fees paid.
The terms
CallCamIT is software that diagnoses and fixes IT problems on this organisation's computers, using an AI model, with access to those computers and, where configured, to your Microsoft 365 tenant. Please read this before installing it.
These terms are between the organisation installing CallCamIT ("you") and CALLCAMIT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17455028, whose registered office is 14 Walton Way, London W3 0AW, United Kingdom, support@callcamit.com ("we"). Accepting them on the screen that shows them, or installing CallCamIT, is your organisation's agreement to them.
1. What CallCamIT is
CallCamIT is an assistant, not an engineer. It reads logs, status and screens, draws conclusions the way a person would, and acts on them. Like a person, it can be wrong: it can misread a symptom, apply a fix that does not help, or change something you would rather it had not. You should assume it will make mistakes, and use it accordingly.
2. What it can do to your systems
With permission, CallCamIT runs commands, changes settings, restarts services, controls the mouse and keyboard, and, where an Azure profile is configured, resets passwords, changes group membership and assigns licences. These are real changes to real systems. Some cannot be undone.
3. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for: keeping working, tested backups of anything you cannot afford to lose; deciding which machines and accounts CallCamIT may reach; who holds the controller PIN and administrator roles; and reviewing what it proposes before permitting anything substantial. CallCamIT stops and waits for an administrator before a change that affects the whole organisation (a server role, a domain controller, tenant policy), and shows every step on the ticket as it takes it. What it asks you to approve is meant to be read rather than clicked through.
4. No warranty
CallCamIT is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and satisfactory quality. We do not warrant that it will find the cause of any problem, that any fix will work, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its conclusions will be correct.
5. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: loss or corruption of data; loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings; business interruption; the cost of recovering or reconstituting data; or any indirect or consequential loss, however caused, whether or not we were told such loss was possible.
Our total liability arising out of or in connection with CallCamIT, in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the fees you paid for it in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Those exceptions are required by law and we state them rather than pretend otherwise.
6. Data protection
CallCamIT processes personal data about the people who raise tickets and the machines it works on. You are the controller of it. It is held on your own systems: the ticket database, the audit trail and the AI model all run on your machines, so in the default configuration we hold none of your data and process none of it. The one exception is a Team key. A laptop contacts us only when a person activates the key on it: when it is set up, again to pick up each newly paid period, and after a reinstall or a lost licence file. Each activation sends us the key, an identifier for the laptop and the laptop's hostname, so the seat can be counted, and like any internet request it reaches us from the laptop's IP address. The identifier is a shortened hash of the laptop's hardware ID (its SMBIOS UUID, or Windows' MachineGuid if that cannot be read). It is not the hardware ID itself, but it stays the same when CallCamIT is reinstalled on that laptop, and anyone who already knows the hardware ID can work it out. DPA.md section 3.4 says what we do with these and for how long. A Team laptop also renews its own licence: each day, from a week before its licence's date until a renewal is issued, it sends us the licence it already holds and its identifier, with no key and no hostname, so a paid period reaches every laptop without anyone pressing Activate. Your administrator can switch that off (the licence_auto_renew setting); the laptops then contact us only when a person activates the key. An installation on the Enterprise plan never contacts us.
Where we do — you send us an export to diagnose a fault, we work on your systems under a support engagement — we are your processor, and the Article 28 terms in DPA.md apply. Those terms are part of this agreement and say plainly which situations they cover, because "we are a processor" is a claim a data protection officer is right to test rather than accept.
If you configure a hosted AI model, ticket text goes from your machines to that provider directly and never through us: they are your processor, not our sub-processor, and the transfer assessment is yours to make. CallCamIT will not send anything to one until an administrator has explicitly acknowledged it.
Nothing in these terms affects either party's obligations under UK GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018, which cannot be contracted away.
7. Licence and ownership
CallCamIT, its runbooks, its documentation and this text belong to CALLCAMIT LTD, and are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and by database right. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.
For as long as your subscription is paid for, and for the month of grace after a paid period ends, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use CallCamIT on your own organisation's machines for its own internal IT support. Do not copy it beyond that; do not resell, rent, sub-licence or lend it, offer it to anyone else as a service, or remove any notice from it. You may decompile or reverse-engineer it only so far as sections 50A to 50C of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 allow whatever a contract says.
Your data is the other way round: your tickets, your registers and everything CallCamIT records about your estate are yours, and we claim nothing in them.
CallCamIT contains open-source software supplied under its own licences. The file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt beside the program names each component and reproduces its licence. The Qt libraries it is built on are supplied under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 as separate files, which you may replace with your own build of them. The AI model is downloaded on first run from the Ollama model registry, under its publisher's licence (the Apache License 2.0 for Qwen3), and is not something we license to you.
8. Payment, term and ending it
CallCamIT is a monthly subscription at the price on your invoice, invoiced in advance and paid by bank transfer within the payment terms the invoice states (30 days unless it says otherwise). We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged or shown. If an invoice is paid late we may claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
The subscription runs month to month. You may end it at any time by emailing us, and it ends when the period already paid for ends. We may end it by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email, and at once if you break section 7. A period already paid for is not refunded. CallCamIT keeps working until the paid period ends and for a month of grace after it; then it stops accepting new tickets until a current licence is installed. Your tickets, audit trail, exports and backups stay on your machines and stay readable whatever the state of the subscription. Ending the subscription does not affect any right or liability that arose before it ended.
Ordering online. If you order in our client portal, the contract starts when you place the order and we raise the first invoice for it, on these terms in the version shown when you ordered. The licence, or for a Team subscription the working of the key, starts when we record your payment of that invoice and not before. We may hold an order for checking before we raise an invoice, and may decline it; nothing is owed on an order that has no invoice. Until the first invoice is paid you may cancel the order at no charge, in the portal or by emailing us, and we then cancel the invoice by a credit note. Once it is paid, section 8's rule on ending applies.
9. For business use
CallCamIT is supplied for use by businesses and organisations. It is not a consumer product, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not apply to it.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
